Alexandra Danilova Russian Ballet Soloist is born.
She was a Russian ballet prima ballerina at the Imperial Ballet School in 1922, moved to the United States in 1938 and became a leading dancer for 13 years and taught at the American Ballet Theater. In 1989, she was recognized for lifetime achievements in ballet as a Kennedy Center Honoree.
