Bertha von Suttner an Austrian novelist who was one of the first notable women pacifist, receives the Nobel Peace Prize.
Bertha von Suttner was an Austrian-Bohemian pacifist and novelist. In 1905 she was the first woman to be solely awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the second female Nobel laureate after Marie Curie’s 1903 award, and the first Austrian laureate.
