Katsuko Saruhashi  Japanese Geochemist is born.

Katsuko Saruhashi was a Japanese geochemist who made some of the first measurements of carbon dioxide levels in seawater and subsequently showed the evidence in seawater and the atmosphere of the dangers of radioactive fallout.
