Sonia Maria Sotomayor Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is born.

Sonia Maria Sotomayor is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She was appointed by President Barack Obama in May 2009 and confirmed in August of the same year. She is the first Hispanic and Latina Justice.
